Employees are not valued

Pros

Full remote work is nice. The other employees (or former employees) are nice.

Cons

No real direction from leadership. Half the company is laid off due to poor leadership. Goals change by the week. Equity is a joke when it is valued at basically nothing. Employee churn is extreme.

Great employee benefits, everyday is a learning opportunity.

Cons

Untrustworthy higher-ups, friction between Sales and Engineering.

Pros

- Open-door culture where different voices matter - Lots of opportunity to challenge status quo, try things, and learn - Truly supportive and caring teammates and leadership - Culture vibe of "working to live" rather than "living to work" - Very attentive to maintaining brand and effectively communicating to the market - Entertains and encourages creative solutions and thinking - Product seems/should be really attractive to the market

Cons

- Some opacity/lack of direction in certain job functions (still building them out) - Alignment issues in some areas around top priorities for the company. Some teams feel very closed off or inaccessible (primarily engineering) - Sometimes culture can feel too laidback around critical issues... circular conversations missing action bias - Many decisions around business direction seem to be made "by committee," which slows down problem resolution... group problem solving is good, group decision making can be bad - Meetings can occasionally feel unproductive or lose focus on the primary topics - Lack of urgency in some individual contributor functions (primarily sales) - Seems to be some overconfidence in the product... sometimes feels like the company is comfortable with maintaining the current state of relatively intensive white glove support rather than enabling the product to be more heavily user-owned. Also contributes to the company not tapping into alternative markets with high growth potential quickly enough.
