Pros

Lots of overtime. Great reputation for workimg with the Autistic population. Tons of training.

Cons

Houses are often way understaffed. There are often human rights violations that even when reported are not fixed. Staff are often overworked and exhausted.

Pros

There was very little I enjoyed about working at the Groden Network. Supporting people with disabilities is something I'm passionate about, but this company made me not even enjoy that piece.

Cons

This agency has a difficult time with making any sort of progressive changes. They opened in the 1970s and seem to be stuck there. When I was hired, I was told that there were all sorts of goals for the agency and how they wanted to grow and develop, however when it came time to make the changes to meet those goals, I was met with "no because this is how we've always done it." The attitude of much of the leadership seems to be aligned with this mentality and that trickles down to managers and direct support staff. I often dreaded going to work because I felt like I was spinning my wheels and often felt I was doing a disservice to those supported. On top of that, this agency pays lower than average and poorly manages their funds so they evidently cannot pay more as a result. It always seemed like leadership was more interested in putting a band-aid on a problem rather than find or implement an actual solution to the problem.

Pros

Working with the kids is fun and there is a lot of training available. Very rewarding job. There is a union which offers protection from the cons.

Cons

The BCBA overseeing south is a horrid human. They kind of keep the money distributed between up up upper "management." The gym teacher is also a horrid human and will be super disrespectful to anyone at the drop of a hat.
