Pros

Friendly co-workers Generous employee stay/discounts (without it, I’d stay somewhere else) 99% medical coverage

Cons

No 401k Weak managers Favoritism The business - We didn’t have a product that differentiated us in the market. The quality of our rooms and experience varied across markets and we couldn’t seem to figure out our own identity. We struggled at both raising and making money, especially compared to competitors, but we spent it like it would never run out.

Pros

The people I worked with. Very nice and professional. Everyone I worked with went above and beyond for each other while on site, and we worked as a team. The bonuses were great when the company is doing well. breakfast is served some days, and the company aims to keep everyone in the know. There are good employee perks and benefits, discounts in other cities. You will meet a lot of travelers and there are company outings that the company offers often.

Cons

They try but the biggest issue with this company is that they can't keep up with the demand and everything suffers accordingly. I've been told this the case for the past 3+ years. The Guild is VERY understaffed and has a high turnover rate from employees to housekeeping. Guest facing employees are stressed out every day and there is not a manager on any site to support. You WILL be expected to do multiple positions most days (esp during call-outs or if they fire without replacing, which is done often). People that have positions in the office seem content, but on the field it's really another story. There is no room to switch into a different department so opportunities for growth just won't happen, because they will need you exactly where you are.

Pros

I have been able to observe The Guild since it began and then was able to join the company a few years down the road from inception. As a startup, venture backed company you can’t expect massive infrastructure. But you get the innovation opportunities that established companies miss out on. They have done a great job to care for their employees. When they had to do covid layoffs they went above and beyond in compensation packages for those let go. It’s a testament to the character of the company.

Cons

It’s a young company and so it has some rough edges.
