Good compensation and flexibility, but challenging culture
Pros
The salary was competitive and aligned well with the responsibilities of the role. Management was generally open to hearing feedback from the team, which created the impression of an accessible leadership structure. The flexibility around time off and remote/work-from-away days was a major plus and made a significant difference in work-life balance on paper.
Cons
Although feedback was welcomed, recognition and growth opportunities seemed to favor those who were more visible or vocal about their work (even when that work reflected baseline role expectations). At times, it felt like performance visibility mattered more than consistent contribution. There was also an unspoken expectation to work beyond contracted hours, which could become overwhelming over time. The culture leaned heavily toward competitiveness, sometimes at the expense of collaboration, which made the environment difficult to navigate.
