Pros

Dream franchise to work on. Some overtime is expected but I feel fairly compensated for it.

Cons

3 days in office may be a negative for some people, but I don't mind. Promotions can be slow, it can feel like your career progression can slow here.

Pros

Opportunity for long tenure - if you want to make this your home and be here for 20+ years, you can. You can deep dive your role and become an expert or move towards management. You have to be prepared to take feedback and driven to constantly improve. If you can't, then you will not make it for long. Each role comes with a lot of responsibility, and the promotion process is thorough and slow. They don't want people to fail in their roles and managers are constantly giving (and receiving) feedback to improve their team (and themselves.) The compensation is really good, especially the bonus structure. In office lunch, snacks, beverages, events and free stuff. They work hard to make the environment enjoyable and welcoming. Tons of vacation and health time. Twice a month townhalls with project updates, studio updates, and candid Q&A sessions. There's a lot of transparency if you're listening.

Cons

The trickledown of Microsoft layoffs is disappointing. Maybe a pro for some, but its disappointing how little people want to hang out outside of work. Some cliquishness. It's a pretty serious place with tons of processes and red tape.

Pros

The employees outside of leadership are all fantastic people and a joy to work with. It's a great place to learn new skills as there is always something new going on. The title of Treyarch under your belt is also nice, plus you get free swag and now microsoft perks too.

Cons

TLDR; the nail that sticks out gets hammered down or pushed out, leadership is incredibly toxic and cliquey, and employees are not compensated fairly or transparently for their time - whether in wages, bonuses or promotions. Once you enter the leadership range you meet individuals who have the mindset of "if youre not crunching over 10 hours a week then you aren't doing the minimum expected of you". All of leadership says one thing and then acts completely different - it's a very toxic environment of if you don't do exactly what I want (even if its unreasonable and even if its not what I said to do) then you're bad at your job. Employees are also underpaid and compensation is a very taboo discussion topic. You are promised bonuses and then the amounts are decided by some mysterious process you don't get to know and promotions are the exact same. Even when hitting their guide for promotion exactly for extensive periods, you are told you are in line for a promotion and then a year later nothing has changed. Promotions and opportunities are based off of 2 things. First: who knows who and since the majority of leadership have all been working together for 15+ years, it becomes very cliquey. Second: who is willing to be walked over and burned out entirely just to receive the bare minimum. Overtime is expected and work-life balance does not exist. It was very clear that making boundaries is unacceptable and even if everyone agrees there are unreasonable expectations - they will still be the baseline anyways.
