- Pay is low. As a non-profit this is to be expected, but even compared to other non-profits in the area, it’s low.
- No opportunities for growth (in my department at least)
- Micromanaging from higher-ups, including those who aren’t even your own supervisor
- Some senior employees ignore feedback because “that’s the way it has always been” even if “the way it has always been” is inefficient at best or toxic at worst
- Despite preaching diversity & inclusion, there are not many employees of color in the departments I work with. The ones who were hired left shortly after…and were replaced by older, white ones with more “traditional” backgrounds. Definitely gives me pause.
