Pros

Good pay with increases each year. Chance to learn the system. Custer service experience.

Cons

Poor and disconnected management the higher up you go. Lack of feedback for employees to give to higher ups without feeling unsafe. Bordum depending on where you are. Having to handle the crazy or insensitive customers from rich to homeless.

Pros

The pay is better long term than any other library system. They receive their funding from property taxes which is more stable than most library systems. They have a very high national rating as far as library's go.

Cons

You are around crazy people sometimes. A lot of homeless people target the libraries for resting grounds.

Pros

The library's mission is undeniably good. Most of the employees are dedicated and work hard. With the right leadership, this could be an innovative, forward thinking place to work.

Cons

The administration is very bloated and uninterested in anything other than looking good. As it is now, ideas from anywhere but the very top are stifled, ignored or co-opted. Bullying and intimidation are common at the top levels of administration. If one is identified as a competent, hard worker, one is given work that is outside of one's pay grade and job description, while the under performing are left to idly laze about and accomplish little.
