Pros

Flexible hours and decent pay.

Cons

I have stated it has flexible hours and decent pay, however, it is hard to book lessons because it is first come, first serve and this company pays you when it feels like paying you. Sometimes if you are one of the unlucky individuals, you will get paid partially for the work you have done or not get paid at all. This company believes it has the right to hold your pay or not pay you at all because of "company policies." You can also be terminated at any given time without a reason from the hiring team. Do not also trouble yourself emailing the support team as most of the time, they will not message you back if it is in relation to paying you your weekly pay. This is not always the case, but it happens for a majority of the time. They will also refuse to give you the corporate phone number or connect you with an individual from corporate if you ask. Money refunds will never happen here and instead of being treated as a member of this website, you are treated as if you are dumb and as a pawn for this company. I would not recommend this company if you are a student or a tutor. I have been cheated out of my pay numerous times or not paid at all. I have not been paid for various lessons to this date. Keep in mind that I am speaking from mostly the point of view as a tutor here and some as a customer. I honestly would recommend a different tutoring platform other than this one. I highly doubt that this company will respond to this review as they do not respond to anything.

First off, I am so sorry you had such an unsatisfactory experience at TutorMe. This is definitely not the norm as we strive to treat our tutors as family. We would be happy to look into your complaints if you email us at support@tutorme.com.

Pros

Work anywhere, anytime. The students are always fun to tutor and have not encountered a bad experience with a student. The online whiteboard is nice and smooth. You can draw freely, make lines, equations, write, type, and even code. You can also embed external files into the whiteboard workspace.

Cons

With the amount of money they are charging students (up to $60/hr for the pay as you go package and as minimum as $39/hr for the lowest), they can definitely afford to pay more than $16. Tutors only take 40% of what the student pays and TutorMe pockets the other 60%. It should be the other way around. For a company with many individual workers, the company should get the smaller split while the workers get the bigger split. Otherwise, the company is going to start losing tutors to competitors. It almost makes me feel sorry for the students that are paying this much only for TutorMe to pocket a lot of it.

Pros

NO PROS, indeed, its just taking away the tutors hard earned amount. Try TutorMe at your own risk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cons

TutorMe just decided not to pay my hard earned cash. When my account was suspended it had a total of over $900 (i have a proof to this). Even if it were to be suspended, i was supposed to recieve my full amounts. They charge the students and retain the few dollars with them. This is a no go zone for tutors. I just hate the fact that they take advantage of tutors. I have a message they sent me after i tried to reach them via email. And i quote Hi Serena, Please be advised that effective immediately, you will no longer receive notification requests for tutoring opportunities with TutorMe because we no longer have a need for your tutoring services. Thank you for serving as a tutor and good luck in your future endeavors. Best, Andrew "Hi Serena, Please be advised that effective immediately, you will no longer receive notification requests for tutoring opportunities with TutorMe because we no longer have a need for your tutoring services. Thank you for serving as a tutor and good luck in your future endeavors. Best, Andrew" And they later said they wont tell me the reason. I just ask for my full payments. DO you want to tell me TutorMe is a scamming companies to Tutors, if no, why not pay then suspend?

Serena, Thank you for taking the time to let us know your thoughts. As you know, we communicated over email and agreed on a remedy to this situation. We pride ourselves on providing excellent quality to our students, and, as such, we maintain strict quality assurance policies. We will remove tutors who do not meet those exacting standards of quality. We pay tutors for any work they have completed within policies laid out in the tutor agreement. Thank you again for taking the time to reach out. If you feel our conversation remedied the issue, feel free to update your review. Best, Andrew
