Now for the negatives. Unfortunately, in my opinion, they outweigh the positives. The 3+ rating here is misleading; look at the reviews. Many of the "stellar" ones are from interns. This is based on my own personal experiences, so take that for what it is.
Leadership: You cannot be everything. The owner is intelligent, very creative, and quirky/fun. Where the shortcoming is in leadership of people. Good leaders inspire; they "see" people and now how to bring out the best in them. Strong people leadership here is lacking.
Reactive: Leadership here is "reactive" in nature. I am someone who sees "calm" as strength; management here tends to get very angry with things get chaotic. Which brings me to my next point...
Chaotic: If you are someone who is okay with an environment with little to no structure, this is not a negative. But as someone who personally looks to organization and structure as guidance, this place is a mess. It's basically a "get it done whatever it takes" approach -- suffice to say, this leads to long hours and a lot of frustration.
Focus: Two by Four does not seem to have a strong sense of purpose. Whatever work is available to be chased, is chased. For example, several of the clients are large "enterprise" companies that can easily push the smaller Two by Four around. This puts people in difficult places. Why? Money. Can't blame 'em, I guess.
Visibility: This goes along with leadership; transparency or a "visibility" to a sense of purpose and how to succeed is not a strong point here.
