Pros

Excellent workplace for fresh graduates to kick start your career. Able to learn very relevant skills and knowledge if you want to pursue a career in the built environment. Your job experience/knowledge will be deemed highly by future employers.

Cons

Very stressful environment where you have to compete with high-caliber colleagues who are usually scholars. No work-life balance as you always have to meet the deadlines. This means working on weekend to get back on track for the things you have neglected during the weekdays.

Pros

Great environment, convenient location, accessible to a lot of food, business casual dress code, manageable stress level, regular working hours, sometimes there is interesting projects but not often. One of the highest starting pay in SB for dip holder - compared to other SB of similar nature

Cons

Slow career progression if you're a diploma holder - lots of time you'll be told that the additional workload given (ie degree holder's job scope) is a step required in order to be considered to be promoted even though you've acquired a degree (a consideration for those who wish to take part time degree), recent re-org has caused a lot of tension and high turnover rate, can be a bit mundane.

Pros

Overall, URA presents itself as an apt organization for a starting career. I was surrounded by good and competent colleagues, and a wonderful working environment. There are various opportunities for career growth. The agency's central location is convenient, with good food places around the area.

Cons

Depending on the department, workloads may be overwhelming over time. Stress and high work pressures are quite common - be prepared to work really hard. For most, work/life balance is compromised over time.
