Pros

Decent Coffee and Snacks-- But you're gonna need them, because everyday is a bloodbath!

Cons

-Of our hundreds of active customers, I can count on one hand the number that will 100% renew their Vbrick licenses -Vbrick Customer support makes the Dell Support team in India seem like the Spa at the Four Seasons! They are fine as long as you do not mind long delays and being told you are wrong. Vbrick Product Team-- What exactly do you do here? There hasn't been any innovation in years, and our competitors have blown past us (MediaPlatform, Kaltura) The Distribute Media Engine-- the local video caching in essence is very cumbersome. Big clients do not want to buld out servers and VM environments. This methodology is flawed and dated. The Cisco Relationship: Vbrick prides itself on this. The truth is that Vbrick has lost it's luster-- we couldn't even get Vbrick to work FOR Cisco. Cisco will expand WebEx and adios to the golden goose.

Pros

* Interesting tech stack * Some engineer freedom * More perks than local contractor jobs

Cons

* Upper management is disorganized and impulsive * History of mass layoffs (multiple full product teams, lots of middle and upper management, lots of senior staff) * No communicated company vision * History of misleading candidates with bait-and-switch job tactics * Abysmal work-life balance This company has no future to speak of with the new management team operating since late 2012. Demonstrated history of bad, rash decision-making without clear goals or direction in mind. Primary investors are just here to make a buck and don't have a reasonable plan of execution to achieve the goal. Management has no people skills, minimal software skills, and has all but killed the hardware business (even more than the 2010s have already killed it). If you're considering this company, ensure that your job description is well-defined. That way when it is nothing like described, you have some recourse for negotiation.

Pros

There were still some great people at VBrick when I was there. While the atmosphere became difficult and toxic, several people were good enough coworkers to make it worth it.

Cons

The simplest way to put it is 'management.' The executive team, both old and especially new, are difficult, inexperienced, petty, inflexible, and holier-than-thou on a regular basis. When one of my managers had a problem with another of my managers, I was placed firmly in the middle by being instructed to deliver assignments between them! I was actually ordered to give assignments to my direct manager because the higher up was such a petty and angry exec! Toxic doesn't begin to describe it. More like 'nuclear.' It's good that the virus response saved this company, because upper management is so clueless that they would have definitely gone out of business without the surge in video delivery needs.
