Pros

Coworkers are cool and very friendly.

Cons

No structure, and leadership. Manager (owner) comes in late to work all the time. Building is filthy but they are moving to a new location soon. There is no realistic goals and if you are not liked by the manager (owner) you are DONE! Manager (owner) name is Ruben is very shady. His business model is unethical and sometimes I feel sorry for the customers that deal with this company. I caught Reuben (owner, manager) video taping me with his cellphone in the Men's restroom and also snooping around my personal life, especially what I post online. The working environment is a little hostile to my liking and there is "favoritism". This company has a high turnover rate and what I just explain probably explains why. Also, if you are not performing to their standards, there is no warning. You will just get a Skype notification to meet in the little office and then you are done.

We value and consider all feedback and we will continue to find ways to improve but we wanted to address a couple of your specific concerns. VRG Components has an informal training process for new employees who are given a lot of freedom in their role. New Account Executives go into the position immediately and are open to asking the team questions for problems he or she comes across. The monthly goals are addressed since day one and we perform check-ins within the first two weeks, monthly, and so on. This is a fast paced industry and the best candidates are highly motivated, proactive, team players with great communication skills and an entrepreneurial spirit. As for the office, we are currently in our start-up office. We are moving to a new location this summer that is twice the size of the current location due to healthy growth. A few weeks ago, we even provided employees the opportunity to visit the new office space. The accusation of the manager taping with the cell phone is false. We communicate heavily on Skype and he has to answer messages immediately because as mentioned this is a fast paced industry, especially with obsolete and hard to find components. Thank you for your ongoing contribution and feedback.

Pros

For me it’s early hours. I leave at 12 every day and get to spend the rest of the day with family.

Cons

Constant eerie feeling when at work. CEO yelling at customers and suppliers, calling them various names. They truly do not care about their employees and much less about their customers. They’re all about making easy money regardless of selling fake stuff to our customers.

What you are describing does not sound like our work environment, however, if you felt this way we are truly sorry about your experience and that this opportunity was just a means to an end. Our employees come to work because they want to. You are correct that employee disengagement is a huge problem in the USA with a rate of over 60%. It's impossible to make everyone happy. We do believe based on the energy in our work environment, that we have a very content and engaged team. In fact, our team has shown tremendous support through challenging times, not because they had to, but because they chose to. Unfortunately, there is no such thing as making money easy. When you discover how to do that, please enlighten us. We are always willing to learn and open to working with a consultant who has more knowledge and experience than us. We are also sorry that you were not aware that a start-up environment is very different from working at a long established corporation. It requires flexibility and adaptability to work at a young company. Many people chose to work in a start-up environment because they enjoy the ever-changing challenges, the opportunity to help build something and create a culture. We truly hope you can find the happiness, satisfaction, and success in your new position and that you can look forward and focus on your future! Life's too short to get stuck in the past. When you can be happy at heart you have already succeeded in life. Sending positive vibes your way and best wishes for the holidays!
