I didn't even know such toxic employers existed. Until Valsoft.

Pros

Comparing to Valsoft, any other company feels amazing.

Cons

The worst corporate experience in my career. Like other reviewers wrote, Valsoft acquired our little family-like company and made lots of promises about not laying anyone off. Valsoft management was going on and on about how much they valued their employees, how people were very important to them, how they wanted everyone to be happy, etc. Then they fired people, cut their bonuses, and put enormous pressure on everyone to push them out. Our old management fought for us, our jobs, our bonuses, but they lost. 50% of our former management quit within 3 months after the acquisition. Valsoft management makes you fill non-anonymous surveys, and since they fire people left and right weekly, everyone is too scared to share their thoughts. So everyone lies and says they're happy because they want to keep their jobs. Valsoft then pats themselves on the backs for keeping everyone so happy. I'm pretty sure that most positive reviews on Glassdoor are also written by current employees who are scared to lose their jobs. Anyway, most of my former colleagues now work overtime to keep up with Valsoft demands and unrealistic goals. To be honest, I was relieved when I was laid off.

Thank you for your feedback. We understand that you are not a Valsoft employee, as a former employee of one of the acquired companies, we encourage you to consult the Glassdoor page of the company you worked at. Acquiring companies is not an easy process and it brings inevitable changes. We have acquired 50+ companies that have grown their employee and customer base over the years. Employees are our greatest and most important assets, we continue to learn and improve so we can continue to provide great support and opportunities. Thank you, HR Team

Pros

None. My experience working for ValSoft had zero positives.

Cons

ValSoft, like most private equity firms, has a standard, ruthless playbook: buy an established company, strip it down for parts, pay out massive bonuses to the executives, discard it and move on. Day one after Valsoft bought our company, 40 people (nearly 30% of the company) were laid off. By the end of the year, another 40 people had been laid off. Some of those positions were immediately posted for hire, at lower wages with less benefits. Benefits were cut on day 1. Management was blatantly dishonest about their intentions with the company. HR was impossible to work with--we had 4 different HR reps from Valsoft over the course of 9 months, and each one would kick the can on your issue until the next took over, so nothing was ever solved. Now 80 people (the majority of the company) lost their jobs in the middle of a pandemic (a pandemic, mind you, that was leading to increased sales for our medical sector firm) despite assurances from ownership that this would not happen. The company forced laid-off employees to sign NDAs, under threat of being denied unemployment benefits. Ownership and management tell bald-faced lies to clients about what is going on.

Thank you for your feedback! We're sorry to hear that you've had difficulties with the acquisition. We understand that you were not a Valsoft employee. As a former member of one of the acquired companies, we encourage you to consult your company's Glassdoor page. We understand that acquiring companies is not an easy process and it brings inevitable changes. The pandemic came with many unknowns and due to its effects like many other companies, we were forced to make changes in order to continue to support our employees, who are our priority number 1. Thank you, Marcela
