Pros

- snacks - some of the people are kind - pay is ok

Cons

- feedback has been given from employees that the workloads are too high, and the mentality from leadership (including HR) is that if you can’t handle it then Vention is not for you. No willingness to adapt to feedback to promote a healthier work environment. Employees who burn out are seen as not being the right ones for Vention. - employees are expected to treat every request as urgent therefore diluting strategy and making every initiative reactive and disorganized. - praise is given to people who don’t take all of their vacation and who work all hours of the day - people are dispensable - no investment in employees. Mentality is if it doesn’t work fire and rehire someone better. - some VPs are not held accountable because of tenure and how well connected they are internally

Pros

Lots of learning to be done - it was nice to be able to take responsibility for an intiative and actually see it put into place. Very fast paced which can be a challenge but the pro is that you actually see the outcomes of your work.

Cons

Very fast paced. While a pro, it can also take getting used to and takes self discipline to help set boundaries.

Pros

- Challenging and interesting products - Opportunity to work with skilled and knowledgeable software developers - Above-average compensation for the local market - More organizational structure than many Montreal startups

Cons

- High and continuous workload, with limited opportunity to slow down between deliverables - Expectations around productivity can feel difficult to sustain over time, especially when trying to maintain work-life balance - Management style can be quite hands-on, which may feel like micromanagement at times - I observed several instances burnout, turnover and layoffs across teams, which impacted morale - While collaboration is emphasized in company values, teams can at times feel misaligned or in competition
