Lackluster Management

Pros

Working from home, equipment provided was of good standard. Team members very friendly to work with.

Cons

FTE Contract was wrong from the start with wage being incorrect. This was corrected when noticed before signing. Wouldn't have been upheld if it wasn't corrected or pointed out at the time. Management culture is incredibly toxic, tenure means more than experience. This was proved time and time again by poor decisions made by management, no accountability for when things went wrong on their terms and also a very strong blame culture. Very limited access to site, this means if you do work remotely, you are very on your own most of the time, and the cohesion with the team isn't as good as it could be. This is because the company will not expense fuel very often, which is very strange considering a massive amount of their workforce works from home and at interview stage it was said that it would be offered as often as needed. I was informed that performance was an issue (which it never has been anywhere else I've worked in 10 years) but when writing probation review, I was told "I have to put something down to show you're not performing" which wasn't genuine. Information that was required for the role was not easily given, context that is very important for fulfilling role was missed, and then blame for this was passed to employees that were simply not told. No bonuses or wage increases with inflation offered here, and the wage itself is on the lower side already. On call was too frequent and impacted life constantly.

Pros

Flexible working. A few good people

Cons

- Seems to be more of a concern with self interest than working together. - heads of depts seem quite happy to take credit for their staffs hard work rather than passing credit on - reactive culture - no support and development - don’t really care about employees and just dump when their plans keep failing. - no long term strategy communicated. - too many distractions in the office to be particularly productive

Do not work for VP

Pros

None- all the good people have left or been made redundant

Cons

Layed off a huge number of employees to source them offshore to make it cheaper. Incompetent design and installations management. Lack of care for employees. This company was a good place to work until recently, no one has a clue what they're doing and the got rid of the people that do. No benefits of working there (no bonus, no Christmas parties, no incentives)
