Pros
Some of the smartest people I've had the pleasure of working with - though the concentration has been somewhat diluted. Genuinely differentiated technology which seems primed for success - considerably better than others in the same space Work with some of the market leading TV companies and advertising agencies Great if you want to be left to your own devices and not micro-managed Adds value to the supply chain rather than just arbitraging nonsense media. Flexible working arrangement. Some offices really invest in big showpiece client entertainment events which are great fun.
Cons
Rate of technology development is slow - and others are catching up with what we can do. Not the fault of the tech dept - there just aren't enough people working on this stuff. Seemingly endless restructuring Preaches a "people first" approach but is actually pretty ruthless once it has been decided that you are affected by the restructure. Starting to accept mediocre performance from senior commercial leaders Major developments which take Videology further ahead in the TV world are at the costs of some basic table stakes in other areas (3rd party DSP integrations). Laser focus on cost-cutting means that ambition is limited in high potential markets such as APAC. Outside of the "boys' club" most people feel they have limited job security. Complete imbalance in workloads between departments with some people getting slaughtered, and others pretty much with their feet up. Zero definition of what a career with Videology might look like in the long term. Morale is through the floor because of the constant focus on messaging around costs undermining the fact that most client relationships are performing really well - and the fact that senior management don't really seem to have much interest in the wider development; only a few key accounts.
