Pros

Management company that is hired to employ, carry inventory, and source jobs through partnering labs. Pay is competitive to industry, however is dependent on your skill set as an optician. Free pair of eyewear yearly 1 week paid vacation after 90 days 3 weeks after you complete your first year. (PTO accrued) Quick access to questions answered by calling home office for frame department and other departments They use Essilor labs exclusively and have frame contracts with most popular frame lines IE: Maui Jim, Luxottica, Safilo (to name a few) Great training when starting They use Compulink for their EHR software (frame orders and such) Overall structure is beneficial for optician to utilize and make an impact in their community

Cons

Small company so insurance is pricey Even though the company is very helpful, you still are susceptible to issues within your actual office that have nothing to do with Vision Associates

Pros

Enjoyed who I worked with. Holidays off. 401K. I liked working on commission because I made good money.

Cons

Being privately contracted opticians make you slightly excluded from the other employees at the same company as you. Have to meet KPIs and "beat" others to get the best raises. Disliked the new bonus structure as is it could create a hostile work environment. Very little room for advancement a lot of empty promises.
