Pros

Let's delve into the aspects of this company, highlighting its strengths and areas of improvement. Starting with the positives: The tech department at this company boasts an exceptional pool of talent. Seasoned group leaders and senior tech professionals exhibit profound expertise. Collaborating with them is not only informative but also enjoyable due to their willingness to assist, particularly when considering the broader context of the company. Their presence adds a touch of vibrancy to the work environment. For those stepping into non-leadership roles, the experience promises to be enriching. The environment is conducive to rapid learning, and team members readily offer support, creating an atmosphere of shared knowledge and camaraderie. The company's Polish offices stand out with their remarkable facilities, offering an impressive work environment. The focal point of technical activities being situated in Poland logically justifies the office's quality. From the moment you step in, you can expect comprehensive provisions and a high level of care.

Cons

Now, addressing the less favorable aspects: Turning our attention to the cons, while there could be an extensive list, I'll concentrate on critical concerns. Every company encounters challenges; however, some issues are more significant than others. Regrettably, Vizlib embodies a case of a flawed company structure and top management. A considerable portion of those making pivotal decisions within the company were handpicked by the CEO, often based on personal connections or shared history. Many of them, though competent developers or managers, have been assigned roles such as Architects or even CTOs. An illustrative instance lies in the appointment of the CTO. The CEO recruited a friend whose career had been mainly managerial, lacking the technical foundation needed for the role. This individual was promptly promoted to Senior Architect and eventually made CTO for a major project, with predictably poor outcomes. However, the absence of technical knowledge isn't the crux of the issue; a true leader would leverage their team's expertise. This is where the leadership falls short. This CTO assumes a dictatorial approach, displaying little receptiveness to suggestions from the team and often displaying an abrasive demeanor towards subordinates. Instances of dismissing employees who dare to disagree are not uncommon. The firing of the Head of Infrastructure and Security, who was a crucial figure in steering the company toward ISO compliance, underscores this pattern. His departure has left a void in addressing technical challenges. The aftermath of these events has seen a notable exodus of employees. One team even disbanded entirely due to the exodus. While this might not be a grave concern if one focuses on learning from the still-present skilled staff, it's crucial to seize this opportunity before they also decide to depart. To sum up, if your role doesn't necessitate direct engagement with the top management, the company can offer a positive learning environment. Regular employees are a valuable asset to the organization. However, should your responsibilities involve interaction with decision-makers, it might be prudent to proceed with caution. In conclusion, the company's strengths lie in its skilled tech team, conducive learning environment for non-leadership roles, and impressive Polish offices. On the flip side, challenges arise from a flawed top management structure and inadequate leadership, leading to departures and a less-than-ideal work atmosphere for those needing to interact with them.

Pros

Two of the best things about Vizlib are the people and the community. Additionally, working in Support, the opportunities to learn are robust. We touch in with almost every department an seeing many varied Qlik implementations from small one-person organizations up to huge multi-national ones allows for diverse learning opportunities. Vizlib leverages the globe to find talented staff. It is great to learn from so many experts. The opportunity to work closely with so many different cultures is incredible. One of the highlights for me! The world is a pretty big place and expanding your life experience beyond your city, or state or country is fantastic! There is a good life-work balance at Vizlib. No one is expected to work all hours of the day or night and all levels of management are accessible. There is a hierarchy as one would expect, but it is not a closed-door environment (even if you are remote). CEO is accessible and connects with all staff regularly. Transparency is one of the company values. Speaking of values, they are not just something that HR says. They are real and upheld throughout the workday. The vacation and holidays are decent. Still a loss for me, but not a horrible hit. If you are coming from a large organization, you will probably be thrilled with the holidays and the vacation bank is better than most. And, they make you take the time! Unlike many businesses that allow for rollover, there is no rollover. Use the time off to rejuvenate and refresh and spend time with family. You do not have to jump through hoops to take your time off. This was pretty refreshing... And no one will call you on your personal device when you are away. That is respected as your time.

Cons

Salary is eh... perhaps it depends on where you are in your career though. Don't let that stop you from applying and exploring. It might be perfect for you needs and wants. Ask for the range if you interview versus sharing your expectations when asked so you do not get too invested in the idea of joining the team.

Pros

Every day was different, sometimes in a chaotic way but mostly fun. Made some really good friends and honestly loved my time at the company even if it wasn't always perfect. I saw the company grow and when it was small I had great opportunities to do some good creative work and leave my mark. I learned a LOT about the data industry.

Cons

Not sure how things have changed but when I was there, management within the marketing team devolved at the end and the team got really lacklustre and resentful. Great and talented people pushed out without their knowledge leaving a mark so honestly, so much talent and internal knowledge lost.
