Pros

Waypoint is a proposal consulting firm. They pay fairly well in the consulting business.

Cons

Where do I begin --- 1. They make promises to you from day one and NEVER keep any of them. 2. Though they pay fairly well, understand they charge their clients 2-3 times what you are getting paid . . . can we say "raking in the money?" 3. They are a small company, and though the owners are millionaires, there are times when they are making excuses as to why your expenses have not been reimbursed in a timely manner or why your pay is delayed if you are an independent contractor. 4. They never say "Thank you" though it's their consultants that are out in the field making money for them and dealing directly with the clients. A "thank you" can go a long way. 5. They expect consultants that work for them to be available in a matter of hours to travel long distances (ie. across country) and be ready to be deployed for weeks at a time. 6. On partner is bi-polar - I swear. He has the personality of a used car salesman and will treat employees/consultants like dirt. He can smile at you one moment (to get what he wants) and screw you behind your back the next. 7. The other partner is a very respected person in the consulting field. However, he has become very docile towards the used car salesman which causes a lot of issues. 8. They contract with anyone willing to put up with their issues, which means that many times you end up working with a consultant that is not that qualified. 9. They don't hesitate to hire family members of fellow consultants which may not sound bad, but one project they brought on a woman's two sons - one had not received his high school diploma, the other had a GED. One was 18 years old and the other was 20. AND THIS IS A PROFESSIONAL CONSULTING AGENCY HIRING FOLKS WITH 10 YEARS OR MORE OF EXPERIENCE in a very defined area. The DoD agency we were at had no idea until it was too late that these two young men should not have been permitted in the building which was a secured site.
