Pros

A few good people that actually "get" the company still work there. But that number continues to decrease as people continue to quit, or get "managed out".

Cons

Completely lost it's great company culture. Alienated most of its core customer base - true fans that made the company what it once was - unique and a fun site to visit every day. Alienated many vendors by becoming too demanding and painful to do business with. Lost it's focus in selling a limited selection of really great deals to selling a huge assortment of mediocre deals. Same as anywhere else, unfortunately. Summary: replaced it's good employees with a bunch of inept and clueless folks that don't understand the business, made it difficult to have meaningful and mutually beneficial vendor relationships, swapped its core fanatical customer base for who knows what (anyone into traffic data)?

Pros

Pay is lower than standard, but with excellent yearly evaluations the Amazon stock grants can be as much or more than the salary, virtually doubling your income. But you have to wait a long time for them to vest. The health benefits are excellent and inexpensive. Time-off is generous but the workload is so high, it's difficult to take it. Casual attire (jeans, shorts, t-shirts). Management is concern with professional growth of every employee but most of the mid-management positions are in Seattle. Great resume builder. Upper management is friendly and accessible.

Cons

The hours are long. Pay is not competitive (but over time will pay off). High stress environment. They hire outside the company or transfer people from Amazon for most middle and upper management positions. Located near the intersection of two tollways, chances are you'll have to take one to commute, which gets expensive. To move up in the company, you're probably going to have to move to Seattle.

Pros

Great salaries & Amazon stock if you can survive past 2 years, goal is 4 years to fully vest your stock options (getting harder every year as the pressure cooker increases). Very casual dress code is nice. Not rigid processes like traditional retailers so you can try new things without a lot of red tape.

Cons

No work/life balance, expected to be available 24/7 and holidays and workload is impossible, especially with horrible tools and systems. Management favoritism to Seattle employees even though most of Woot is in Dallas. Subjective annual review process is a popularity contest to decide who will get fired each cycle to meet the Amazon quotas. Low morale & high turnover but everyone ignores it. Vacation time not competitive with other major retailers so push to negotiate more up front if you're interviewing, even though you can never really take a vacation from Woot anyway.
