Pros

The office and surrounding area are nice. Beverages are provided, and they offer unlimited PTO. The owner will occasionally buy lunch for the whole office.

Cons

Management sets unrealistic goals for production, forcing you to work an obscene amount of unpaid overtime hours. While a joking environment is advertised, it's mostly the rest of the staff making jokes about other people (sometimes at the expense of other employees), and they're quick to pull the "boss" card if you joke back and strike a nerve. There are few organic hires in the office, and it's easy to feel like an outsider. This is a group of twenty-somethings who buy expensive clothing and mock those without their fortune. They are the stereotype of spoiled Naperville kids. Those who don't fit in with the other people in the office are forced out regardless of their work qualify and ethic. They will set you up to fail so you can quit or be fired. Criticism is not given in a constructive manner. Instead of being sat down and talked to about areas where you need to improve, you're degraded in front of the entire office.

We're sorry you feel that way. By no means did we feel as though the job expectations were unrealistic, and we'll be the first to admit that we work in a fast-paced environment. We let all potential employees know that during the interview process. As for the rest of your negative comments, we're truthfully not even sure how to respond. All jokes are made in good fun, and any slight ribbing is always met with laughter from both sides. There aren't many companies out there that allow you to openly make fun of your boss, and we feel as though we're fairly lenient in that department as well. We've had numerous additions to the team since your departure, and all of them have blended in with our company culture seamlessly. We wish you would have spoken up about these matters before your sudden departure, though hindsight is 20/20. We wish you the best going forward.

Immature? You'll fit in.

Pros

Nice office. Boss does fun things like tickets to baseball games and occasional free lunches. Laid back environment.

Cons

Very immature, non-professional environment. Talking about clients and co-workers behind their backs in a derogatory manner in front of the entire office happens frequently. Constructive feedback is looked at as negative criticism. Credit is taken and not given. True client relationship building is to only use the client to get more from them not a genuine interest in them. Poor workmanship is covered up and dismissed as normal.

Pros

There are no pros period. Only giving them one star because I have to.

Cons

- Underpaid and you will never be paid what you deserve. - No job security, be prepared for them to "let you go" at any moment. There were 7 people that came and went in a matter of 2 months. - Horrible benefits - VERY unprofessional executive team - CEO is a clout chaser and cares about no one except himself. Don't be fooled, he does NOT have your best interest in mind.

Hey There! While I do appreciate the review on Glassdoor, I apologize that you had such a negative experience at Youtech. I do know that Youtech is not for everyone which is maybe why you decided to leave this review but I wanted point out a few things to hopefully give some insight and clarity. Youtech is a bootstrapped marketing agency that started from nothing. There has never been any funding, no outside investors and was built from absolutely nothing. We pride ourselves with the start up mentality and the culture we built here at Youtech. Out of our 85 employees across 3 different cities in 9 years, every single Senior, Manager, Director, VP and C Suite Executives have all been promoted from within. Please do not discredit all of these hard working individuals for what they have accomplished because they put in the hard work each and every day. As you know, we also LOVE to give entry level people opportunities as well, and in turn the con to that is that some find that it may not be a good fit for them. Some are looking for more a laxed corporate environment, and we are just not built that way. But, for the entry level people that decide to put in the work, and enjoy their time here at Youtech, they grow faster here than most other places. We also strongly disagree that people are underpaid because again, we hire a lot of entry level people, and the people that accepted the jobs, are the ones that accepted that rate. In the last year, we have matched the industry standard and made sure that our team is well compensated. I'm sorry again that it didn't work out with you here. No hard feelings, we wish you the very best!
