Pros

Ever changing environment, if you like that sort of thing. Always something new, or being introduced. Academic environment, ripe with learning opportunities for certain teams and departments. The intent behind the message is inspiring. The building is beautiful.

Cons

The values are just smoke and mirrors. Only certain groups matter, and the focus on those groups creates a tunnel vision. The lack of respect for certain teams is astonishing, especially coming from leadership who preach values. The feeling of having no voice, and not mattering is enough to push people to look elsewhere. The feeling of clicks in high school is strong. Instead of addressing issues of employees, the narrative is that turnover is good and people are moving on for bigger and better; when it should be what can we do to improve and retain talent. The real issues are not being addressed, but rather called other things to make it appear that there are no issues at all.

Pros

Excellent access to cutting edge technology in plant science

Cons

Culture is that jobs are temporary and DDPSC functions as a stepping stone for post-docs and PI's to start-ups and industry. No emphasis/benefit for support staff retention. Very hierarchical.
