CEO talks of being a family but it's really a dictatorship

Pros

The types of services that mdgroup provide are vital to reduce the burden on patients in clinical trials. The teams delivering the services are smart, proactive, caring, and helpful.

Cons

While there's lots of talk about being a family, and treating everyone with kindness and respect, that's not reflected in the CEO's behaviour in my experience. You're brought in for certain expertise and experience, but your ideas are often treated with disdain and rudeness. Feedback and direction are nearly always negative and cryptic.

Pros

There are no pros to working under a dictatorship, walking on eggshells, always waiting for the next shoe to drop.

Cons

Lead by narcissistic egomaniac bully CEO with self esteem issues. Most of the good employees have left because of the leadership. Many employees are overworked, not appreciated and significantly underpaid. Management sets impossible targets and beats up those that work very hard to deliver. Unhappy employees, unhappy customers and exceptionally bad management

Pros

- tremendously hard working and talented teams - good salaries

Cons

-Company trying to grow too quick in areas that it just doesn't have enough expertise or knowledge of. That's up to the top, with a few exceptions. -Knowledge and experience only tolerated if there's an immediate return or cost saving. Otherwise forget it you'll soon be out of favour - immediate bottom line is all that's seen, not investment in getting it right, which would help keep or improve that bottom line because they'd be a better, more reliable product. Knowledge and experience definitely not properly appreciated. -Company talks about taking leave and mental health but management are quite happy to work completely ridiculous hours and become super stressed -Spends a lot of money on taking advice but not following it instead of investing where its needed and on bringing in work it isn't equipped to manage (not for lack of the efforts of those trying to do the work with way too little resource or experience) -lack of investment in those doing the work (having enough resource to do the work and training / experience) at the expense of fancy marketing and "bigging" themselves up, leaving those working hard to deliver fighting fire after fire every time something goes wrong because company is growing too quickly without sufficient investment in its people and infrastructure - stress and overwork levels are high - biggest priority seems to be to look good in front of clients and pretend they can handle things they can't - leaving staff working ridiculous hours with little support to find a solution to deliver on the promise made by a BD / sales team who don't understand what it is theye are selling they just care about getting the business in the door and let those trying to tell them its not feasible deal with it when it goes pear shaped - you're okay while your face fits and you agree with the CEO who doesn't understand the environment he's working in and that you can't just wing it in GCP -you're dealing with patients - really doesn't go with the straplines about remarkable patient experiences and patients first
