We are pleased to announce the launch of the first local paramedic program in over a decade for AMR San Joaquin and Stanislaus operations. The program will accommodate 16 dedicated students, offering them the opportunity to obtain their paramedic certification upon successful completion of the comprehensive training requirements. Upon graduation, these individuals will join the ranks of paramedics serving both AMR and local fire agencies. This initiative aims to cultivate the next generation of healthcare professionals and we look forward to seeing the great work ahead! #OneTeam
Meet Elizabeth Holliday, a communications manager from Arlington, Texas, who has been with AMR for eight years. Elizabeth is motivated by being able to assist people get the help they need. She loves helping others and dispatching responders to calls. She recalls a time three years ago when there was an active shooter at a local high school. She was in the communication center making sure the dispatchers had the tools they needed, while helping with breaks and anything else necessary to handle the crisis. She was in contact with the operations manager and other supervisors to ensure they were informed and kept up to date while they were handling the situation. She says the best quality to serve as a public safety telecommunicator is the ability to multitask. Answering the phones and dispatching units to calls is of the utmost importance. Being able to not let situations get to you, such as death calls or upset individuals. She says telecommunicators need to be the calm voice in the dark. Thank you, Elizabeth, for all you do! #NPSTW #OneTeam
