For the second year, the Dungarvin Wilmington (NC) team has helped raise donations for the “Stuff the Bus” school supply drive for Communities in Schools of Cape Fear. The drive, conducted in July and August, collects new school supplies for students in New Hanover and Pender Counties. Our Dungarvin NC team pulled together to donate back packs, paper, folders and other essential materials to the cause. After collection, the items are sorted and distributed to students in need through social workers in the county schools.

In another example of how Dungarvin lives up to its mission to respect and respond to the choices of people in need of supports, the Connecticut team will soon offer an array of Remote Supports to people with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) who live on their own or with a guardian. This new service uses technology, such as sensors, to monitor both an individual as well as home conditions for safety and well-being when an individual is home alone. Dungarvin answered the State of Connecticut’s call for local providers to develop Remote Supports and participate in the pilot project this month. Read the blog below to learn about this new service and how it can support greater independence.
“Dumbfounded, humbled” and “honored” were the words Rose Musgrave used to describe how she felt when she found out she won the ANCOR DSP of the Year Award for Indiana. Rose is one of seven Dungarvin DSPs around the country who were recognized as outstanding professionals in our industry for their states. Each was honored during the ANCOR Connect ’25 conference in San Diego in April. Rose, it was wonderful meeting you and speaking about the strong bond you share with the three women you support. This fact became particularly evident when we checked in with them and they had the following message to share: “We’re happy for you but when are you coming home?!” Congratulations, Rose! Your Dungarvin family is so proud of you!! 😄😊💘
