Each year, Lessen takes time throughout February to join the nation in recognizing Black History Month. This annual celebration is a time to reflect on the achievements of African Americans, recognize their central role in U.S. history, and honor Black culture. Our Black Employee Network (BEN) Employee Resource Group hosted an exciting Black History Month Trivia event this year. This was a fantastic opportunity for our employees to learn, celebrate, and expand their knowledge of the invaluable contributions of the Black community.
Get to know one of our excellent leaders, Kris DiDomenico, Senior Director of Operations for our Exteriors team. This team’s focus is to manage Lessen’s extensive network of vendors – from landscapers to snow removal companies. In this blog, you will learn how Lessen plans for and delivers for our customers during snow season.
Lessen employees celebrated the holidays in many ways this year. Several of our team members worked together to create some amazing gingerbread houses for one of our holiday celebrations. Everyone had a great time sharing their holiday spirit with one another. We are all looking forward to the New Year. Here’s to an incredible 2025!
Innovation takes center stage! At the 23rd Annual Chicago Innovation Awards, our CTO, Jianqing Zhao, presented the Lessen Entrepreneurial Spirit Award, which recognizes companies that disrupt an industry with an entrepreneurial mindset, to Merredith Lewis and High Definition Vehicle Insurance (HDVI). Their telematics solutions are redefining trucking insurance, proving the power of bold, entrepreneurial thinking. We were honored to be a part of this night and a proud sponsor of this event, as we celebrate the innovators making waves across industries. https://chicagoinnovation.com/
Lessen is proud to be named the #3 fastest-growing company—and the #1 fastest-growing software and services company—on Deloitte’s 2024 Technology Fast 500! For 30 years, the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 program has celebrated innovative companies that are transforming how we live, work, and play. This incredible recognition reflects the hard work, vision, and determination of the Lessen team. Here’s to continued growth and innovation in 2024 and beyond!
This year, Lessen joined the nation in recognizing Veterans Day—a day to thank all who have served, honor those who lost their lives fighting for our freedom, and pay respect to the friends and family who have a loved one in the United States Armed Forces. We are extremely grateful for the sacrifices these service members have made. We have many brave Lessen employees who are veterans. Several generously took the time to share their stories with us. We featured those stories on our intranet to pay tribute to their bravery and sacrifice.
The Lessen team pulled out their broomsticks and Jack-O-Lanterns for Lessen’s Halloween Costume & Desk Decorating Contest! Team members that we in the in the spooky spirit submitted photos of their costume or office/home desk and posted it in the All Company Teams channel to be entered to win a $50 gift card to the Lessen Swag store. We had a total of eight winners across our Scottsdale, Phoenix, Chicago, and Remote teams! The fun didn’t stop there! We were streaming Beetlejuice in each office. We ended the day with no tricks, just treats for all our employees.
Lessen is committed to providing our team members with the tools and opportunities to develop their knowledge and grow in their careers. Recently, our Talent Solutions team partnered with leaders across the business to host the Lessen’s Career Presentation series. Team members could hear directly from leaders as they discussed what each business unit within their department does, what skills are needed to succeed, open roles/career pathing options, and answer any questions they may have about how to grow their career with Lessen.
Lessen remains committed to providing team members with a platform to build connections and work together to meet their health and fitness goals. Throughout October, Lessen employees from all three offices participated in our 5K run/walk – an initiative geared towards bringing people from across the business together to form relationships and better themselves! At Lessen's 5k event in Scottsdale, employees had the opportunity to participate in a fun run/walk, followed by engaging activities that allowed them to socialize with each other, their families, and their friends. In addition to the main event, special activities designed for the children of the employees, including coloring and painting sessions, added an extra layer of enjoyment and bonding for everyone involved. Our Chicago team members have committed to coming together each Tuesday during their lunch hour to walk through the city’s Millennium Park every week until they meet their distance goal. This has empowered our Chicago Lessen crew to step away from their desks, get some fresh air, and uplift one another!
We know that many of our team members here at Lessen have been personally affected by breast cancer or know someone who has, which is why we established The Breast Cancer Wall across all our offices - a place for team members to write their name or the name of a loved one they are supporting throughout this month. To show their support, members of the Lessen team wore pink on October 15 as our offices promoted several campaigns and programs to support people diagnosed with breast cancer, educate people about breast cancer risk factors, emphasize the importance of regular screening, and fundraise for breast cancer research.
