February is Black History Month, a time to honor the rich history, resilience, and contributions of Black communities. This year’s theme, "African Americans and Labor," highlights the historic and continual contributions of the Black community to drive industries and pave the way for all future generations. During this year’s Black History Month we want to create a better sense of belonging and spaces where we uplift, inspire, and create a space for all members of our community to reflect on this history to better our workplaces of tomorrow.
Yesterday, the nation recognized and honored Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Civil Rights Day. Our DEI Asé (ah-shay) Employee Resource Group encourages employees to continue to engage in their communities, and to reflect and act on Dr. King’s legacy of justice, equity, and service. Though we span many states, schedules, and roles we are still ONE Merakey. Let’s honor Dr. King’s legacy by celebrating, volunteering, and uplifting our communities. Small actions today can lead to lasting change for tomorrow.
