As part of Mental Health and Dementia Awareness Week, MHA Brookfield is just one of our many homes using the Key to Me programme which helps care workers to build stronger relationships between residents, their families, and colleagues by learning more about their lives.
To mark International Nurses Day and the contributions nurses make to society. MHA's Senior Nurse Adviser and Caldicott Guardian, Helen Press, has shared her reflections on the role of nursing in care homes.

Residents at MHA Horfield Lodge recently enjoyed a visit from some farm friends. 🐇🐐🐑 Kelly's Donkeys provides assisted therapies with animals. Residents got to meet two 2-month-old Pygmy Goats called Tom and Jerry, a 2-month-old lamb called Mickey and two rabbits. A few of the residents were lucky enough to feed Tom, Jerry, and Mickey their bottled milk. The visiting animals were all very well-behaved, and the residents enjoyed learning about and interacting with the animals.
MHA The Homestead has some special visitors come and see them on World Penguin Day. Residents and staff had a wonderful time with Pringle and Widget from Heythrop Zoological Gardens in Chipping Norton.

Six colleagues at MHA Anjulita Court are celebrating a combined 80 years of service! 🌟 Senior Carer May, Activity Coordinator Mickey, Nurse Gosia and Maintenance Worker John each celebrated their 15 years of service at the home. Hospitality Manager Colin, and Senior Carer Yasmeen both celebrated 10 years of service. Everyone received a certificate from home manager Ernie in recognition of their dedication to supporting older people. Congratulations everyone!
