In New Zealand: 33% of families worry about having enough food, yet 60% of food that goes to landfills is still edible. Globally: Over 800 Million people (10% of the population) go to bed hungry each night, yet 1.3 billion tonnes (33%) of all food produced is wasted/lost. 🌱 At Reebelo, our passion for sustainability and a smarter way to consume goes beyond refurbished devices. Our New Zealand Team was given an opportunity to volunteer at KiwiHarvest to help make a difference, nourishing communities, and the planet. 🍏📦 🤝 KiwiHarvest is a charity based in New Zealand and its mission is "Feed More - Waste Less - Kai Atu." Our Reebelo NZ Team spent the day at at one of Kiwi Harvest's warehouses packing bags and boxes of food donated by local food businesses. Once the food is packed, it then is delivered by Kiwi Harvest's drivers to community organizations to feed local families. This ensures that good food finds its way to New Zealand families in need, instead of ending up in landfills. #ReebeloCares #CommunityStrong #ZeroWaste #Reebelo #ReebeloNewZealand
Another of our incredible teams helping make a difference. We partnered with Feeding Hong Kong who work to collect donated surplus food from around the world that would otherwise be discarded and wasted. Just like tech waste, food waste is a growing problem that we can work together to combat. Our Reebelo Hong Kong Team spent 2.5 hours, helping this great charity sort, check, and pack food donations collected from the airport. We were thrilled to not only continue our mission to reduce waste, but to also help give back to communities. #charitableoutreach #reebelo #reebelohongkong #foodwaste #sustainability #communityoutreach #givingback

No ifs, ands, or putts about it our U.S.A team is growing fast at the moment. 💥 We’ve gone from a small team of 8 at the beginning of 2023 to quadrupling our headcount just in time for the relocation of our founders to our American shores this month. The next chapter is about to get exciting, let’s get this par-tee started! Thanks so much to ⛳ Topgolf San Francisco for having us last month for an after hours team putting session, we had a blast! Also we promise there will be no more cheesy golf puns on our LinkedIn page in the near future. 🤐 #reebelo #growingteam #teamusa

Reebelo's mission is to refresh the way we consume tech, but we wanted to explore all other sustainable missions. The Singapore Team had the opportunity to learn more about sustainable food/cooking with Elika Tasker @ Discover Everton. They have created flavour-some meals that do not feel like they are 'missing out' whilst they contribute their part to people, the planet and the community. Globally, the food we eat is responsible for almost a third of planet-warming greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions humans produce in a year. So how can we reduce the impact of food on the environment? Here Are A Few Tips To Reduce Your Carbon Footprint: 1. Stop wasting food. Food waste is a significant contributor to greenhouse gas emissions. 2. Ditch the plastic. 3. Eat less meat. 4. Try plant-based protein. 5. Cut back on dairy. 6. Eat more fibre-rich foods.
