A path leading to advancement 🔝 Born and raised in Germany, Roula Samara came to Greece in 1998 to study Informatics at the Athens University of Economics and Business. She began working as an IT System and Network Support Engineer, where she had her first contact with Uni Systems from the client side, as part of implementing the Horizon Integrated Library System project. After observing the entire workflow and processes involved in executing the large project, she decided to switch roles, joining us in 2006 as a Software Support Engineer in the Public Business Unit. Various large system integration projects later, new roles and responsibilities, she became the Business Application Unit Manager in the same BU. Empowered by Trust 🤝 From the beginning of her time at Uni Systems, Roula was given the opportunity to work in a friendly, team-oriented environment with excellent collaboration, communication, and an open exchange of ideas and knowledge. A significant factor contributing to her development was the trust and support she received, along with the freedom to express her opinions openly and take her own initiatives. What is coming up next? 🚀 Considering the rapid growth of both our company and the IT industry as a whole, Roula believes new challenges are on the way, and she is simply ready to face them. Moving forward 🚀 Having worked as a Software Engineer for a number of years, Stefanos Manolakis joined Uni Systems in 2019 to do what he knows best, and, was soon promoted to Supervisor of the Public Administration and Financial Projects Unit. With his dedication to continuous learning and professional growth, and with Uni Systems’ support that provided him with numerous opportunities to enhance his skills and knowledge, Stefanos transitioned to a supervisory role, which requires effective leadership skills and strong interpersonal relationships. Embracing change ✔ During his time at Uni Systems, Stefanos went through significant personal and professional growth. The mentorship he received having experienced colleagues and supervisors at Uni Systems has been invaluable, as their guidance supported him in navigating complex projects and making informed decisions, fostering both his technical and leadership skills. He has also noticed that he gradually became more flexible and open to change, a skill that helped him navigate the evolving landscape of software development. We are proud to announce a new project, contributing to the preservation and promotion of Greece's musical heritage. 🎼 By leveraging new technologies, the exceptional and wealthy archival material of “Friends of Music” Society has been digitized and documented. This project not only preserves invaluable archival material but also transcends traditional boundaries by creating a modern repository and interactive digital applications.
New beginnings 🔛 Young talents are those who need our support the most, especially in the first steps of their career. Vasilis Antonopoulos is one of those #UniQue talents that have joined us, after completing the Coding Scholarship program “Mind the ”, initiated by Quest Group. He was previously employed in an administrative position at the Hellenic AirForce and after completing the program, he joined Uni Systems as a Software Engineer in our Banking BU. With no previous work experience in engineering, only some relevant studies to show for, it did not stop Vasilis from applying to our re-skilling program, successfully complete the training, and then join us with confidence on what was lying ahead. Change is an opportunity for something new 🎯 Every day is an opportunity for him to learn something new. Vasilis left the military and joined Uni Systems in an effort to fulfil his deep personal aspiration and transform his career, going after what he genuinely enjoys. It was huge leap, but it taught him that he needs to value his goals. At its core, this journey has convinced him that true satisfaction comes from following your passions and dreams. That’s what he did and he does not regret his decision! What’s coming up next?⏭️ Looking into the future, Vasilis’ immediate goal is to successfully complete his degree in Computer Science, a milestone he eagerly anticipates. His passion for continuous learning and growth will drive him to pursue further certifications.
