Pros
nice facilities and subsidised canteen
Cons
The workplace is bureaucratic and rife with toxic internal politics. Career opportunities are rarefied and the lack of internal mobility foster an atmosphere where middle managers, more focused on preserving their internal position, exhibit territorial behaviour that can hinder a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment. Lack of leadership from the senior management allows these issues to persist, despite being internally common currency.
Even if the tax-free salary and benefits seem alluring, the remuneration falls below industry standards, and full pension benefits require years to vest. It is regrettable that despite the potential for a unique blend of civil service and finance, the current state of affairs detracts from what could otherwise be a dream job at EBRD for many.
