How are senior leaders perceived at Nuix?

      Nuix reviews

      Big Vision

      Engineering director
      Current employee
      Sydney
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Company has good leadership that are taking on a huge transformation across the org, culture and tech.

      Cons

Transformation takes time and can be hard on teams.

      Pros

Good executive leadership team good vibes

      Cons

      Having undergone alot of change

      Cultural Disconnect

      Former employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Allows flexibility to work both remotely and in the office. Product offering can offer value.

      Cons

Some managers approach to inclusivity falls short as it does not adequately support various lifestyles and personal situations leading to a lack of inclusivity limiting true diversity in the workplace. The culture favors those who follow directives without question, which can stifle independent thinking and there is an expectation to conform to a narrow way of doing things. Priorities frequently shift without warning, some managers may then question your decisions, creating constant uncertainty and doubt – because of this work reactive and feeling like you’re always trying to catch up. This continuous chasing may create a stressful and exhausting work atmosphere resulting in long work hours, and little time is available for strategic thinking or innovation. Some managers lack experience in both people management and leadership skills, often resulting in unclear guidance and diminished team morale. Some managers appear to be insecure and may undermine contributions rather than provide constructive feedback, even when tasks are completed successfully. Communication tends to be passive-aggressive rather than direct creating a tense and insecure atmosphere. While there are efforts to promote a positive culture, these initiatives often don't align with the day-to-day realities, leading to a disconnect between stated values and actual practices. The work environment, marked by issues based on all of the above and a lack of support, leads to a high turnover rate. There is a constant churn of staff disrupting cohesion in the workplace. Nuix is a challenging workplace and may not be suitable for everyone, especially for those who are looking for an inclusive and supportive atmosphere. It's unfortunate there is a cultural disconnect between stated company values and workplace practices as these intentions often don’t align with the reality of day to day operations.

      Okay-ish

      Customer success manager (csm)
      Current employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Remote Option, decent pay, some nice people

      Cons

No one actually cares about you, little to no onboarding, no career plan, mid to senior management is catastrophic, no clear vision. Most people i've engaged with seemed to work there only for the money, very few had any passion or interest whatsoever. During onboarding noone was interested or eager to help a new employee. Average age quite high.

      Great place to work

      Sales leader
      Current employee
      Sydney
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Nuix seeks to be a force for good by solving wicked data problems. That statement of intent drives everything the company does. The CEO is deeply engaged, always upbeat and is highly-strategic. The company takes care of employees with transparent internal communications, flexible working arrangements and good benefits. The business is innovating strongly in the AI space and is pushing the boundaries in ways that are genuinely exciting. I'm glad I joined.

      Cons

Nuix's core competence is focused on the processing unstructured data: "finding truth in a digital world". That makes Nuix a very different kind of software company to others I have worked for that were primarily focused on structured data held in databases and processed via transactions. It takes time to get your head around the Nuix world view and to appreciate the company's many advantages.

      Not recomended

      It manager
      Former employee
      Sydney
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Location in CBD Nothing else I could think of

      Cons

Office politics and lot of bureaucracy Stuck in the role with no succession plan or promotion pathway

      8

A lemonade stand has a better return on investment

      Cyber security analyst
      Former employee
      Herndon, VA
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

The CEO is so focused on the Chief Marketing Officer that he can't even remember his own name, let alone string together a coherent sentence, which is great news for investors.

      Cons

Third layoff, zero innovation? Executive Leadership, it's time to face the music! Investors, selling lemonade on the street corner is better investment than Nuix. At least then you'll have a refreshing drink when the next layoff comes around and the stock goes down, again.

      Transformation Rich Environment

      Agile coach
      Former employee
      Conshohocken, PA
      Recommend
      CEO approval

      Pros

      - Strong leadership team - Powerful, globally utilized product

      Cons

      - Still transforming - Internal communication struggles

      Great employees, soulless corporate leadership

      Anonymous employee
      Current employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Brilliant and caring team of workers

      Cons

The corporate leadership have only focused on perceived short term profitability to investors and lost touch with everything else that matters. Nuix had great teams, great products, and a healthy hard-working engineering culture. A series of questionable decisions since going public on the stock exchange has continuously made the work culture there less and less pleasant, leading to huge losses in the engineering talent, knowledge. motivation that actually makes their complex software not degrade into a buggy and unusable mess over time.

      3

      Nuix is in crisis

      Technology lead
      Former employee
      Sydney
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

The product is truly a force for good - it helps catch the bad guys!

      Cons

Where do I start - The leadship is terrible, they have a belittling attitude, - The CEO seems to only care about his shares, not the people - The atmosphere in the office is toxic - The place is a revolving door, people leave very quickly, - A lack of knowledge of the core product due to good people being let go, puts more stress on those left behind - Way too much focus on marketing rather than the people

Hi, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I am disappointed to hear that you feel this way about Nuix and the culture within the team. We have been very focused on creating a great culture, we have had a positive step change in the last three years, with more to go. I recognize that within the Technology team we have made recent changes to our operating model and structure to set us up for the future, and appreciate that unfortunately, these changes can have an impact on our people. If you would like to share more, please contact me directly so we can act on feedback to continue our growth. Thank you, Alexis - Chief Technology Officer
