What are some insights into the application process at Walmart?

      Walmart reviews

Easy application process, but work can be monotonous

      Business outlook

      Pros

simple application, minimal training, no prior experience

      Cons

      job is a bit monotonous

Try to avoid if you're a student

      Cashier
      Former employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

The application process was easy and I was allowed to work as little as two or three shifts a week as a part-time worker since I was a student as long as I told them my availability. Most coworkers will be decent.

      Cons

There were many times where I couldn't leave for my lunch break until almost 6 hours into my shift due to poor communication between team leads. When I said my availability was from 4-10, my store manager changed it to 4:30-10 so they wouldn't have to give me a lunch break

      hate this place

      Stocker
      Former employee
      Ruidoso Downs, NM
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

they will do the personality test for you to get hired

      Cons

      working there is a nightmare

      Great

      Full stack developer
      Former contractor
      Bentonville, AR
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

medium work life balance Good team appreciating the effort

      Cons

less clarity about the application stressing to delivery the deliverables on time

Walmart: They will work against you, but its tolerable.

      Associate
      Former employee
      Gun Barrel City, TX
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

They provide solid pay, good hours, and easy work. They will pay if you get into an accident, even if it was your fault. They give two 15 minute breaks a day, on top of an hour lunch. This work is perfect for a first job, or if you want to get off your feet. As long as you keep up with your application and make calls to keep it up, you will be hired.

      Cons

The 5-point system will work against you and seems to be there just to keep the influx of new hires in. Unfortunately, as good as you are, everyone has there mistakes. The app is sometimes confusing for no reason, i genuinely question why Walmart even has a separate tech company if everything they do just kind of sucks, Its tolerable though. *Disclaimer: I was fired from Walmart because of the point system, I had a workplace injury and even though I walked in and gave the HR medical paperwork, I got pointed out for not calling in through the app specifically.
