I was contacted by VOIS HR for a design position.
The initial interaction was a short phone call where I was asked about my current and expected salary. However, the recruiter adamantly refused to disclose any details about the company’s own budget or compensation range, which made the process feel one-sided and unclear.
What raised red flags was the job description itself — it listed a wide range of responsibilities: branding, social media design, UI/UX (Figma), and visual design. Despite this, the recruiter focused only on PowerPoint presentation skills, which seemed oddly specific.
Soon after the call, I received an email with a PowerPoint assessment task — completely unannounced and not discussed during the interview. I found this inconsiderate, especially for senior candidates. The task was unpaid and required 2–3 days of effort.
I submitted the work via Google Drive on July 9. On July 14, someone named Zoltan Jenei (presumably from the company) requested access to the folder. However, to this day, I have not received any update, feedback, or even a rejection email — despite their site stating a 10-business-day review period. It has now been several weeks.
With no NDA signed or feedback given, the experience unfortunately raises serious concerns about spec work — using candidate designs internally without compensation or acknowledgment.
