I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at A&R Screening (Bridgeview, IL) in Feb 2015
Interview
Arrived 15 minutes early. The location is definitely suburban, and parking is a gravel lot. The building has a small brick exterior. I'm currently in graduate school for graphic design downtown, so was pleased with difference.
John, hiring manager/person under 2 owners interviewed me. Nice guy.
Having worked in corporate environments I expected place to be a " ma and pa" feel- which it certainly did. (Unorganized, worn down feel, etc.) not bad but expect it. I was looking for a part time position to complement my schooling related in my field, and also expected a pay cut.
Offered position...$8.25/ hour. Understandably this is a production role (mostly prepping files with the pen), but this is an insult to the graphic design world. They shouldn't list as a graphic design role, or that they require college education. Go work at McDonalds, and avoid places that feed this idea.
Tried to negotiate to at least $9.00/$10.00. Didn't happen. Had to decline offer.
