      Service Coordinator Interview

      11 Nov 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Footscray
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Ace Care Services (Footscray) in Oct 2024

      Interview

I was initially contacted by Ace Care’s HR on LinkedIn regarding a Casual Service Coordinator position. Though I wasn’t actively looking for a new job, I was curious since they reached out. They quickly set up a first interview, which went well, and within a day, they invited me for a second interview in their office. The speed of the process was impressive at first—HR was quick to follow up and offered me the position the same day as my second interview. However, the initial offer letter included a pay rate below the higher end of their range, which I felt was necessary given the casual nature of the role (without benefits like sick or annual leave). After discussing this with HR, they promptly revised the offer to the agreed rate and asked me to submit several documents. Once I sent everything over, I tried to access the contract, but the link had expired. When I flagged this with HR, they mentioned they’d send a new link after completing my reference checks. I provided four references, two of whom confirmed they’d submitted their feedback. Yet, after days of hearing nothing, I followed up, only to be told that Ace Care was still evaluating candidates, with a decision expected the next day. This sudden change in pace was disappointing and confusing. I’d been given an offer twice, but it seemed the role was no longer secure. After waiting several more days without an update, I decided to withdraw my application. I informed HR that the lack of transparency and professionalism throughout the process made me reconsider joining Ace Care. Overall, this experience felt unorganized and left a negative impression. It’s a reminder to approach opportunities with caution and to value companies that communicate consistently and respectfully during the hiring process.
