I had an a HR screening process and then a Hackerrank test that had to be taken with the camera ON at all time and that disallow leaving the window/tab of the test (to avoid google searching/llm assistance, etc I assume). I understand the need to ensure that the interviewee is the one answering the test but IMO a camera on all times + disallowing basic things done in the day to day job is pushing it way too far and may signal some overcontrolling behaviour.
