I applied online. I interviewed at Adorable IO (Madison, WI) in Jun 2016
Interview
I reached out to the owner through the Adorable site, and they very promptly invited me into their office for a discussion about what I'm looking for in my career. After I left, I was told that there wasn't an immediate need for hiring but I would be in mind should the opportunity come around. Overall, it was great to network.
About a week later I heard back that a position opened up, so I came in to get an overview of what they needed. I was told I started at X amount and could ask for a raise after one year; according to Adorable, this was a policy of some kind (even though I'm pretty sure it isn't).
The offer was very generous and knowing a few people in the company already, I excitedly joined.
I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Adorable IO (Madison, WI) in Feb 2016
Interview
I initially contacted the company casually and was invited for a tour. After mentioning that I was job hunting, Jim offered to set me up for an interview. I underwent a paid, working interview with two of their developers.
At no point did anybody ever ask for or look at my resume. The interview was just a long technical screen.
