It was an interview for a rather senior position with a relocation to bangkok.
After a few brilliant interviews via Skype, i was invited for a face to face interviews in the Bangkok offices.
They paid for the flight and the stay in a great hotel, walking distance from the offices. The stay itself was very nice.
Now, right from the first interview, things didn't work fluently: at first, i had to wait for about 40 minutes outside the office in a small non A/C lobby, because they were delayed. After that, some of the people who were supposed to interview me were missing or busy.
It was a two days process. The second day was also messy. After the last interviews, i was giving a real-estate tour by a very nice realtor agent.
i was told i'll get a final answer in a week.
i felt i didn't shine at the first interview, due to my severe jet lag. And after almost 3 weeks (!) of not hearing from them a thing, i tried to check what's going on and i even said that i wasn't at my best at the first interview. i got another skype interview, in which i was told i was very good, and also on the face to face they thought i was very good.
And another few weeks of nothing.
After nudging them again, i got a laconic rejection. From an HR coordinator, with no explanation.
The nice guy who interview me last asked if i was satisfied with the answer and when i said that i got no explanation whatsoever he apologize and said that someone there thought my vast experience might make me too opinionated for a corporate like theirs.
i didn't argue, although i thought it was absurd, because - among other reasons - they should have understood that i want this position too bad to make any issue insignificant.
