I was contacted by a recruiter who did not work for Aidin about a fullstack position that fit my skills and experience quite well. I was set up for a phone chat with someone high up in the company (not just a manager).
The person I met with ended up drilling me about the ins-and-outs of SQL. Mind you, this is for a fullstack position. Yet the whole 30min was focused on IN-DEPTH questions about SQL. Not even SQL queries, but SQL ITSELF.
"What is the main difference between a 'repeatable read' and 'serializable' isolation level?"
"What is the efficiency between an index seek and index scan?"
I was asked if I had any questions and I asked: "isn't it possible that someone might be an excellent fullstack engineer and not know so much about SQL?" To which he replied: "absolutely not. I've never met a good fullstack engineer who couldn't answer those questions."
Oh, and he didn't ask me one question about FE development.
