Then it went downhill fast: a sketchy Google Doc questionnaire, followed by a vague email linking to an unlisted YouTube video where the founder basically negged applicants and told us to DM the company’s Instagram with a mini essay. That’s not just unconventional. It’s unprofessional. You already have my resume and cover letter, along with the big questionnaire you had me do. If you want my socials, ask. This extra hoop-jumping feels like a test to see who’s desperate enough to comply. If this isn’t a scam, it’s a mess. If you’re too busy to run a proper hiring process, hire someone who can. Influencer-style videos and Instagram assignments don’t build trust. They just push serious candidates away. Hiring goes both ways. Based on this experience, I’m out. I know the Marcus Sheridan and MBA crowd is big on these kinds of videos right now,
