Started out as an on campus interview for an internship, the interview was shorter than most. The interviewers were kind of dry with not much enthusiasm. I was offered the internship a few days after (the internship is around $16/hr).
I informed them I would love the opportunity but I was in the middle of interviewing with other companies for a FULL TIME position. They responded quickly saying I could come on site and interview for the full time position if I wanted to.
I decided to do just that... weeks and weeks go by without an email regarding the position. The other companies didn't work out so I felt comfortable knowing I would at least have an internship (I had a deadline to meet for my degree).
I finally decided to email Leslie and ask what their thoughts were. She informed me I didn't receive the full time job. So I emailed back saying that was perfectly fine, but just wanted to double check I still had the internship.
She responded back quickly again saying "no, we have decided to offer you neither position".
COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL
When you offer a student an internship, something that is required for them to graduate on time, and then decide to take it away... something has to be wrong.
I was very kind, excited, and genuinely happy to be on site for the interview. My tech background completely exceeded the job requirements. It made no sense. Just so unprofessional- stay away unless you want to be working in 1 of 10 cubicles for the next 15 years of your life with 0 advancement opportunities.
