The overall process started off fine basic fit and IQ test were smooth, though the IQ test itself was a bit unusual. I passed everything, but what really threw me off was the video creation requirement. As an educator focused on student growth and facilitation, being judged on my ability to make TikTok/Instagram-style videos felt out of place and honestly a little cringe. I’m more effective as a facilitator, not a social media content creator. After that, there was also a video retelling of a literary text. I was told I made it to the top 5% of applicants, but the video creation aspect is what ultimately killed my chances, especially since I perform much better in person than on camera. I’m fine with a rigorous screening process, but the video requirement just felt out of sync with the skills I bring to the table.
