I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at AlphaSights (New York, NY) in Nov 2012
Interview
I applied to a different job using a headhunter that manages AlphaSights' recruiting. He informed me that I would not be a great fit for the job I had applied to, but that the Analyst role at AlphaSights might interest me. I completed an easy 4-question assignment before the interview that tested my knowledge of the company and how I would approach a typical AlphaSights project.
Half of the interview was about my background and desire to work at AS, while the second half was almost an interview-led case study, in which the interviewer explained their project framework and asked what information I would seek out. It wasn't very difficult.

Question 1
"What interests you about {your major}?"
While it's not an unwarranted and one that really has no "wrong" answer, I've never been asked this question in any interview or really in any situation in my life. I know exactly why I'm interested in my chosen course of study but I was inarticulate in delivering my answer, and I'm sure that my lack of poise at the moment cost me points.
Smooth process, first phone calls then zoom interview everyone was very nice and explained 1 person and then 2 people next round was very easy and comfortable would reccomend applying and seeing how you feel

Question 1
What was the most challenging thing you had to do?
30min interview fairly relaxed. Mainly behavioural questions and talking about yourself. 1 question at the end about what you understand the company to do. The interviewer was friendly and helpful. It is optional whether to have your camera on or not.
