I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Dublin, Dublin) in Feb 2017
Interview
Although I was motivated at the beginning when I got head hunted by a Recruiter via Linkedin, I was completely disappointed at the end. At first I got contacted by AWS Recruiter at Amazon Dublin offering me a position of Cloud Support Engineer as Amazon will be holding a recruitment event at my country. I was not forwarded a job description even after I asked. However the Recruiter was referring to a position that is requiring Linux and DB skills where I am expert at. A week after I forwarded her my resume I received a link for online assessment where it was divided into multiple choice questions about Linux and DB where you have 40 minutes of each assessment test. A week after I finished the assessment I got an email from the same Recruiter with feedback of passing the assessment and the next step which was 2 technical interviews with 45 minutes for each the 1st one was to test my DB skills which was fair however the other one was all network administration questions where I was not supposed to be interviewed about as I was referred as Linux Engineer and I was expecting questions about Linux skills however the interviewer kept on asking more complex networking questions where I told him I was not supposed to have such questions. At the day after I received a rejection email. I tried to contact the Recruiter complaining about the unfairness I faced during the interview However I got no feedback and got ignored at the end. Overall it was very bad experience
It was a 4 round loop. The first two rounds focused on networking and troubleshooting, plus questions about your domain. The last two rounds are just answering questions using leadership principles in STAR format.
The interview was smooth. Recruiter reached out with an invitation to an online assessment, then a phone interview 1 hour and interview loop scheduled after that. It had 4 rounds
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Depends on the domain of the role. I had Networking domain, so most questions were on Linux and troubleshooting.
It was difficult , questions about os and computer network and one easy coding question , the coding question was prime number question, also asked behavioural questions which are to be answered in STAR format
