The process is drawn out, so prepare yourself for at least a month or more. It took more than two months for me - from submitting the resume to getting an offer. The interview included two phone screens and an onsite face to face. I had to present a pre-prepared solution slide deck and then interview with 5 different people for the onsite portion. Be prepared to showcase the AWS value proposition during the presentation.
If you go through enough glass door interviews for the AWS SA position, you already know the questions. Technical questions have huge breadth. They asked about databases, networking, security, IO, Devops and more. Although they never go super deep in the technical.
A lot of in depth questions about your leadership behavior during your career, and how it maps to the leadership principles. All, “Tell me about a time when” questions. My recommendation - don't make up scenarios, or they will catch you. They dig deep, super deep.
I enjoyed my experience, except for the scheduling part. All interviewers were super smart and kind, and made me feel comfortable during the process. I don’t really know why some reviewers have mentioned “cultishness” about the LPs. I never felt the interviewers obsessing about them, but they do want a cultural fit, which makes sense to me.
I prepared for about two months. Best ever investment I did in myself.
Thank you glassdoor, for the crowdsourced interview process. There is absolutely no way I could have cleared the interview without glassdoor.
