      Instock Manager Interview

      5 Nov 2012
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon

      Interview

The interviews began with two separate phone interviews separated by about a week. All the coordination was done through a recruiting coordinator and my first contact with anyone on the Instock team as when the called me. Both interviews were extremely similar. The first was with my potential boss and the second was with a potential co-worker. Both focused on my technical skills with Excel and my thought process for problems I had solved in my pas work experiences. There was nothing off the wall about either interview. My in-person interviews started in the morning and lasted roughly 7 hours and included an interview over lunch. I was interviewed by 8 different people, with each interview lasting roughly 45 mins. Each interview focused a different area/Amazon core competency. The Bar Raiser was interesting, but extremely easy to ID and therefore not as difficult as I expected. Although it was one of the two most intimidating interviews of the day. My final interview was with someone from another team, so I essentially interviewed for the same role on two separate teams, or two job in one process. I've been told this pretty common.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The Bar Raiser will continually come at you with changes to the original scenario, so make sure you listen to what is being asked and stay on your toes. And don't be afraid to take some time to answer the question. You will not be knocked down for taking 30 secs to answer a question, or taking time to write something out.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon in Jun 2024

      Interview

The interview process was typical of a normal interview—textbook questions, not very out of the ordinary. Leading up to the interview you do need to take an interesting exam, but as long as you use common sense you should be able to pass.
