I applied through university. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Seattle, WA) in Nov 2013
Interview
Application and interview process was very straightforward and structured. The website was ironically the worst part of the process as there were a couple technical issues with uploading/submitting. I didn't get an email for a final round interview at the same time as some classmates and assumed I was getting rejected until I got an email asking if I had received the first offer.

Two on campus phone interviews (30 mins each)
Second round flown to Seattle
In-person interviews in Seattle (4 back-to-back)
Response time after final round interviews was less than a week with formal offer package
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Straightforward behavioral interview questions. No gotcha questions though one of the interviewers was extremely persistent with asking follow-up questions and why I made decisions/took actions. This is aligned with the "Dive Deep" leadership principle
Interviews are based on Amazon Leadership principles. Interview process went very smoothly with mostly focusing on my previous experience. They expect the answers in STAR format. Also, some other behavioral questions are also asked. Since I joined as an intern there were only two rounds of interviews.
