I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Arkansas Public Service Commission (Little Rock, AR) in Aug 2012
Interview
Like with most government jobs the process is long with little indication of the next step. The interview process involves a thirty minute writing assessment that consists of six questions. I consider myself to be a proficient writer and I had trouble finishing in time and getting all of my thoughts down on paper. The actual interview is in front of a six person panel. The panel consisted of the Director of Financial Analysis, a Senior Analyst, and 4 representatives of different divisions inside the AR PSC. Be prepared to answer in depth questions about any material that is given to you ahead of time.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
It is hard to pick one question for the hardest question since none of them were "easy" questions. Most were about my experience with financial analysis. The hardest set of questions centered around the direct testimony I was given to review ahead of time. If I could go back again I would become more familiar with that material.
