I submitted an open application directly to the person in charge of production (Production manager), someone I knew who had worked freelancing for the company shared his contact. My first interview was with him, instead of the normal route.
Typically interviews are first held with the head of HR, then with who may be your immediate boss, and finally with the company's owner or CEO.
There were very few questions, I was asked mainly about my previous experience, i.e. in furniture design but of different kind the company specialized in. They were interested in my profile because it was similar to the position I could fill in but could bring specific new knowledge they were interested in.
